Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you... |
A brief letter to my parents: Thank you for choosing to bring me into this world. Growing a human is no easy task - its natural and beautiful and accompanied with discomforts. Thank you for enduring pregnancy, labor, and postpartum pains. It doesn't matter how I was birthed or fed, just know that I was and that you did an AMAZING job! Thank you for loosing sleep for me. Whether it was lost sleep 28 years ago or lost sleep 28 days ago, I appreciate you caring enough to make my life a priority. And lastly THANK YOU for being my parents. Although the above thanks seems to be directed mainly to Mom, know that you too Dad were very much apart of the entire process. You were at moms side through it all and you have continued to show me the love of a parent just as much as mom has. Love always, Samantha |
On your next BIRTHDAY ask your parents what that special day was made of. Ask how you were welcomed into the world, and how their lives were forever changed. Celebrate another year of life, but also celebrate your birth mother (and parents) for enduring the pregnancy, labor, and postpartum pains, for all the sleepless nights, and most of all for choosing to bring you into this world.
